As-Salaam Trust (Masjid As-Salaam, Muhoho Avenue, South C, P.O. Box 16491-00610, Nairobi) is responsible for the personal data you send through this website. We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
What we collect
- Applications: who the application is for, the programme, the student’s name and date of birth, a parent or guardian’s name and relationship (for children), phone number, optional email, area and message.
- Messages, new-Muslim enquiries and gift notes: your name (or first name), phone and/or email, your message, and for gift notes the amount, cause and M-Pesa code if you give them.
- Technical data: to stop spam, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a real person sent the form, and we briefly count requests per connection. We do not store your IP address with your submission. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we use it
Only to reply to you, process the application, confirm a gift, or offer the support you asked for. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on each form, and, for applications, the steps needed before enrolling a student.
Children’s data
Applications for children are made by a parent or guardian. We collect only what we need to place a child in the right class.
Who sees it
Only the relevant As-Salaam office staff (admissions, the masjid office, or the new-Muslim support team). Data is stored securely with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We never sell or share your data for marketing.
How long we keep it
Up to 24 months after your last contact with us, then it is deleted, unless the student enrols, in which case it becomes part of the school record.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time. Message us on WhatsApp +254 723 005 274 or write to the address above. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya.
